Pathshala of NCRVA was established in February 2020, originally under the name Nepali School of Glen Allen, Richmond, Virginia. The school was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic with the mission of supporting the Nepali community in Glen Allen and surrounding areas by promoting language, culture, and education.
To further expand its reach and integrate art and language education into the growing community, the school officially became a part of NCRVA (Nepali Community of Greater Richmond, Virginia) in September 2023. Following this transition, the school was renamed Pathshala of NCRVA and now operates under NCRVA’s guidance.
Pathshala of NCRVA remains dedicated to fostering a strong sense of cultural identity, linguistic heritage, and academic growth within the community. Through its programs, it continues to provide a supportive environment where students can learn and celebrate their roots while integrating into the broader society.

This class is for young students who are already familiar with Barahkhari, and Nepali Barnamala. It's wonderful that they will have the opportunity to continue developing their writing skills and learn how to make simple words using vowels and consonants.
Machhapuchhre :
This class is an excellent opportunity for children to expand their knowledge and skills in the Nepali language, culture, art, tradition, and heritage. With advanced knowledge of Barahkhari, they can confidently read, write, and speak Nepali. The class also focuses on the formation of Nepali words, which is essential for enhancing their language abilities. In addition, children can learn about Nepali culture, festivals, and social structure, which is crucial for their overall education and development. This class provides them with a well-rounded education and helps them become more knowledgeable and culturally aware individuals.
Sagarmatha:
By the end of this class, students have become masters of the Nepali language, with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently. They have also gained a deep understanding of Nepal's rich culture, including its festivals, social structure, and heritage. In our Advanced Pathshala class, which includes children aged 10 to 16 years, students not only refine their Nepali language skills but also explore Nepali Katha and Kabita from social and moral textbooks, making their learning experience more enriching. The curriculum covers various aspects of Nepal, including its culture, festivals, tourism, and the cultural differences between Nepal and the USA. This class provides a valuable opportunity for children to connect with their Nepali heritage while broadening their understanding of global cultures.
