Statement on the Tragic Events in Nepal

We are deeply shocked and saddened by the devastating loss of life and widespread injuries during today’s protests across Nepal. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to all the families and communities affected by this tragedy.

As a nonprofit Nepali community organization, we stand united for human dignity, peace, and solidarity. We strongly condemn the violence and tragic loss of life. We urge all parties—the government, security forces, and protest leaders—to prioritize de-escalation, respect the right to peaceful assembly, and take every step possible to prevent further bloodshed.

We call upon:

• The government to immediately engage in transparent dialogue to restore trust.

• Security forces to commit to restraint and proportionality in the use of force.

• All parties to support an independent investigation into the events of this tragedy, to promote accountability and justice.
