IB vs AP:

What is the difference?

IB or AP?

Whereas  AP allows students the opportunity to select classes of interest, the IB is a more comprehensive, interconnected  program.   In the IB, students are challenged to think critically about the world around them.  Teachers facilitate learning experiences that allow students to explore in depth the topics that they are teaching.    At the end of the program, students will have gained a greater world perspective and can articulate their role as a global citizen.

Additionally, students who participate in the IB Diploma Programme have the ability to earn university credits within the UNC System of public universitiesStudents who receive a score of 5 or better in their SL courses and a score of 4 or better in their HL courses will receive college credit at all UNC System public universities.  Rocky Mount High School prides itself with our high pass rate for students who earn the IB diploma.
