As a collaboration between MUN students and the teachers of the social studies department, the Soph Sim invites 10th grades to step into the role of a diplomat and try their hand at international affairs. With committees of all sizes and styles, each student is guaranteed a unique and constructive day of debate. Some committees will look back at turbulent periods of history in order to advert disasters of the past, others will work to solve current global issues, and even more will anticipate problems of the near future. Although delegates will represent a variety of perspectives, all must think creatively and work diplomatically to create viable solutions.
When preparing for the Soph Sim, the most important thing to remember is that it is a learning experience. While it is expected that you come prepared and work hard, don't forget to have fun! At the end of the day, the delegates who will have the best experience are those that put the most effort into it. This website has been designed to help in your preparations. From briefing packets to position papers, utilizing the resource of this site will give you an advantage.
