Supplemental Interventions
Tier 2
Tier 2
Sometimes a portion of your class just doesn't quite master the skill or standard being taught. Before deciding who needs Tier 2, supplemental interventions, be sure you have reviewed your data at Tier 1. What percentage of students did not master that skill or standard? If it is a large portion of your classes, then consider the issue to be Tier 1 or the core instruction. Refer back to different instructional strategies you can incorporate into your core instruction. However, when the percentage of students not mastering the skill falls about 15%, then it's time to look at Tier 2, supplemental/small group interventions. This can be done during Flex or during your class time. However, data tracking is a must in order to ensure these students are progressing. Below are some resources to help aid you in your Tier 2 interventions.
Intervention must be done to fidelity in order for it to work. Follow these easy steps daily in each Flex cycle in order to see the most out of RTI (response to interventions).
