I grew up in the woods of Connecticut, looking for fireflies and climbing stone walls made by original settlers in the area. When I was 18, I went to Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, close to Amish country, where I got a Bachelors degree in psychology. Next, I left for sunny (and sometimes smoggy) California to attend University of California, Davis to earn a Masters degree in child development. I moved one more time, this time to Portland, where I attended Portland State University for a Masters degree in social work. After working for six years as a child therapist at OHSU's Child Psychiatric Day Treatment Center and a brief stint with the state as an adoption worker, I was thrilled to be hired in 1999 as View Acres' first school counselor!
I live with my two sons, our two dogs (Monster and Neon), one cat (Kaiju), a leopard gecko (Spot), and a ball python (Corvo). In my spare time, I love to do yoga, read novels, watch documentaries, and bake chocolate desserts.
