Teaching Philosophy:
"I truly believe that each child has the potential to learn and achieve. It is our job as educators to provide a safe and predictable environment that enhances learning for the whole child. I am passionately dedicated to the education of a diverse range of students and work to create an inclusive, positive, and productive learning environment that fosters and promotes the academic potential and social well-being of all students."
Teaching Experience:
I have taught 5th grade, 2nd grade, and worked as a learning specialist. I'm currently the K-5 health and wellness instructor at Oak Grove Elementary School and feel passionately about teaching students the skills they need to make healthy choices for themselves. Health and wellness gives students the opportunity to become advocates for their mind and bodies, to help them stay safe in all situations.
Personal Interests:
I love to hula hoop and share this joy of movement with my students. It can be incredibly mindful! I also enjoy yoga, gardening, and getting outside whenever possible. Over school breaks you will also find me traveling abroad and learning about new cultures which I can then integrate into my learning opportunities in the classroom. Children bring joy and energy to the day. Even though teaching is a tough job, there is nothing else I would rather be doing.
