About the Director

Jimmy Brown began his teaching career in the fall of 2019. Since then, he has taught singers of all ages, always with the goal of creating meaningful musical moments for his students and his community. He believes that if you are human, you are a musician. If you are a musician, you are human. He strives to make better humans by making better musicians.

Mr. Brown attended the University of Oregon where he received his Bachelors of Music in Music Education. He also serves as the Associate Director for the Oregon Repertory Singers Youth Choir and sings with the Portland based choir, In Medio.

He lives in Gresham with his wife, nephew, and 3 pets: Luna the chiweenie, Nova the german shepherd, and Alice the maine coon. He enjoys cooking, photography, games (video AND board; especially Mahjong), and spending time with people that he loves.
