Getting spiked happens when you don't get out. Be relentlessly aggressive to avoid it.
We need to practice racing strategies.
Wear hip numbers on your hip.
Wear running shoes to track meets. Put your shoes on between events to do cool downs and warm ups.
Put your cell phone and earphones away when you are warming up.
Pay attention to your events and make sure you are ready for your heat.
Wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt before and after your events.
Do a set of drills after you finish your event.
Drink plenty of water the day before a meet.
Eat a meal the morning of a meet.
Communicate if you are going to miss a meet.
