Nihon Chukinto Africa Fujinkai “NCAF”  

( Ladies' Friendship Association for Africa and the Middle East)    

Founded in 1981, Nihon Chukinto Africa Fujinkai (NCAF) is a group of women bound by an interest in the Middle East and in Africa, some having lived in these regions. The membership currently numbers approximately 100. NCAF offers various activities with the objective of fostering friendship among ourselves and with women from Africa and the Middle East, residing in Japan. We hope that our interactions will enable our friends from abroad to better appreciate Japan, making their stay both memorable and fun. At the same time, we are troubled by the plight of the people in their countries and regions, who due to changes in the natural environment or political unrest face food scarcity or are forced to leave their homes. We strive to offer them help, however modest it may be. The sympathy and generous support we ourselves receive from various parties is what sustains us in our effort to join hands with the women of the Middle East and Africa to forge a path, step by step, that leads us all to peace and a brighter future.
