My name is Anna Wade, and I am honored to serve as the North Carolina American Choral Directors’ Association’s MiddleFest Chair. It brings me great joy to work alongside the NC-ACDA Board and dedicated directors across North Carolina to continue advancing our mission of providing high-quality choral experiences for every director and teacher.
MiddleFest began in 2019 as a festival created just for middle school singers and their directors across North Carolina. The goal was to offer a high-quality music experience outside of the traditional honor choir setting. After that first event, we added a professional development component, giving directors the chance to learn together through engaging interest and reading sessions led by colleagues in the field. Teachers can earn up to 5 hours of renewal credit (.5 CEUs in their content area). One of the best parts of the weekend is connecting with fellow middle school choral educators. The festival wraps up with a showcase performance by the festival choir.
This year, we are also pleased to announce a “Collegiate Day Pass” that allows music education students to attend and participate in the day’s activities alongside the directors.
We can’t wait to see you and your singers at MiddleFest in February!
This site is designed to make resources easily accessible in the lead-up to the event.
