The Class of 2020 used the MaKey MaKey invention kit to build a living circuit! Haylee "played" using our human piano. Each student (& Mrs. Panico) got to participate by being a conductor of electricity. Enjoy our rendition of the song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with our human piano!
International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration, which began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009.
The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.
We had a lesson in class to discuss writing programs and the steps to make programming easier. Afterwards, the girls were able to program the Sphero, which they lovingly named "Buster," to draw a square with a different color for each side. They also used a "loop" to allow the program to continue to run. I look forward to working with this group throughout the year to accomplish some great things!
