HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS:  Students must read the assigned pages, annotate, and take light notes.

Week of 11/11:  Students will be placed in groups to present a topic to the class on Tuesday.  The three topics that will be presented upon are:  

1.  In what sense do Rosencrantz and Guildenstern have choices?  How are they like/unlike other characters?  How are they like/unlike human beings?

2.  Which do Rosencrantz and Guildenstern perfer order or arbitrariness?  Which does the play itself present as more fearsome?

3.  What is the first secene from the play we see from the original Hamlet?  Why do you think this particular scene is the one that was chosen?

Wens-Friday we will begin reading Crime and Punishment in class, chp. 1.
