Classroom newsletters are a great way to stay connected to what is happening in the classroom. Each week you will see what we will learn in class. I strongly encourage you to read these often and refer to them for any questions on classroom content or important dates.

Grey folders will be sent home with students daily. Please return these folders, notes, and homework in the “Return to School” side, while the “Stay Home” side pages stay home with you.
PowerSchool will the site in which you can check grades. I will make sure that they are updated from assessments, assignments, and class participation/virtue by the end of each week. You should have received information on how to set up an account, if not please contact Mrs. Schmidt.
SchoolPass will be the site in which you can update how your child will get home from school each day or record absences. You are welcome to email me with this information but it does also need to be changed within SchoolPass for records. You should have received information on how to set up an account, if not please contact Ms. Burley.

Class participation grading rubric:
5 points = worked hard in all areas
4 points = needed 1-2 redirects to complete work and not distract others
3 points = needed 3-4 redirects to complete work and not distract others
2 points = needed to be moved within classroom to complete work and not distract others
1 point = needed hall reset, too distracting to self and others after multiple redirects
0 points = not completing work and constantly distracting others
Please make sure you can log into SchoolPass - even if you have told me that your child will be absent, it still needs to be recorded by you as an excused absence in SchoolPass
PLEASE make sure to label your child's sweaters, coats, hats, and gloves! There are a lot of same items and it's much easier for us to find the owner when left behind when there's a name on the inside label =)

Wonder Days is a day that we use to celebrate in greater depth something that we are currently studying. Grammar School will host Wonder Days on September 26th. More details to come but there will be opportunities for the students to dress up (specific guidelines to come soon) and do some fun projects around our kindergarten class theme.
