Garden Club

The mission of the New Brunswick High School Zebra Garden Club is to create and sustain an aesthetically pleasing garden that will serve as an authentic outdoor classroom for the education and pleasure of our students. Members of the garden club perform several outdoor activities including potting and planting fruits, vegetables, and flowers and maintaining the garden by weeding and cutting overgrowth. Club members also paint and design their own personal plant pots to grow their own plants, create posters about sustainable gardening and the environment to raise awareness regarding environmental pollution. We also fundraise for our club by selling the plants, fruits, and vegetables we have grown over the course of the school year. The garden that the Zebra Garden Club creates will provide a living laboratory for hands-on learning experiences across the curriculum to promote meaningful outdoor activity and to foster a connection to the wider community. In addition, the garden will be a tool to teach the importance of healthy nutrition and sustainable practices.
