The Action Research involves using videos to explain mathematical computation that students can view at home on their mobile Chromebooks. The videos vary techniques and strategies for both review and enrichment and are designed to engage students in learning the process of computational thinking. Each teacher designs their own videos and/or locates videos from YouTube or Khan Academy that align with their classroom instruction. Students demonstrate their understanding of the concepts in various in-class responses to teacher-led discussions, worksheet activities, computer-based learning activities, and creating their own videos to explain their computational thinking. Preliminary assessments show positive results in improvement in student mathematical learning.
