Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year — a fresh start filled with possibilities, growth, and joyful learning! We’re excited to partner with you for another year of curiosity, courage, and community!
There are several kinks to work out during the first few days of school. Please see the information below to ensure your child is well-prepared and ready for a smooth start.
ARRIVAL MATTERS
↘️Make sure your child has this on the 1st day!
K-5
COLOR-COORDINATED BOOKBAG TAGS
We kindly ask that all K-5 students arrive on the first day of school with their school-provided grade-level coordinated book bag tag attached to their backpack. These tags help staff easily identify students and support a smooth transition into classrooms on the 1st day of school.
KINDERGARTEN - Yellow
1ST GRADE - Green
2ND GRADE -Red
3RD GRADE - White
4TH GRADE - Dark Blue
5TH GRADE - Orange
WRITE YOUR CHILD'S INITIALS AND ASSIGNED HOMEROOM NUMBER ON THE TAG
[If you are unable to collect a school-provided tag before the first day, send your child to school with a color-coordinated index card/paper with their names & the homeroom printed on it.]
DISIMISSAL MATTERS🏁
Notice to PreK Guardians ↙️
New Dismissal Window for PreK Students
Starting this school year, the PreK dismissal window will be from 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM.
Please note:
Parents who arrive after 2:45 PM will be marked as late.
Siblings of PreK students will also be dismissed during this time window.
Dismissal Procedure
Beginning at 2:30 PM, guardians are asked to line up at the green door next to the main entrance.
Staff members will take the name of your child and verify your authorization to pick up using either:
Your NBFA-issued dismissal ID, or
A valid state-issued photo ID.
Parking Options
To support a smooth dismissal process:
Double-sided street parking on Couse Street will be permitted between 2:20–2:45 PM.
Families may also continue to park on Garden Street, though space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Make sure your K-6 child has this on the 1st day! ↙️
Having a clear dismissal plan for your child is essential!
Please prepare an index card with your child’s full name and their regular dismissal plan (Bus, Pick-Up, or After-School) to give to the teacher on the first day of school.
If your child’s dismissal routine may change in the coming weeks, be sure to indicate:
Their regular dismissal plan
Their temporary plan, including how long it will be in place
This helps us keep your child safe and ensures a smooth dismissal process each day.
