TRIO is a set of educational college access and retention programs sponsored by Southwestern Oregon Community College and funded through the U.S. Department of Education. North Bend High School and North Bend Middle School both have TRIO Advisors who work with our students.
We assist and encourage students to:
>Stay in school and graduate.
>Enroll in college, university, or technical training programs after high school graduation.
Upward Bound is designed to help students overcome economic, social, and educational barriers so they can achieve the success of a college degree.
Upward Bound serves 50 students through activities designed to improve their grades, promote study and research skills necessary for college, and generate the motivation needed to succeed in higher education. Upward Bound students receive a small monetary stipend based on their academic achievements and participation in the program.
Each summer Upward Bound students have the privilege of participating in our Summer Program. This program is designed to simulate the college experience in order to provide insight into what college life is really like.
