mEET mRS. zIMMERMAN

Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. Zimmerman and I will be your child's 6th grade math teacher this school year! This is my 13th year of my teaching career and my 3rd year at North Boone Upper Elementary School. Throughout the last 12 years I have taught 6th grade math, 7th grade math, 7th grade social studies and 8th grade social studies! However, my favorite has been 6th grade math! 😉

I live in Roscoe, IL with my husband, my two sons, Daxton (5) and Wesley (3), and my French Bulldog named Louie!

I am excited for another great year and can't wait to see the progress and fun that we have in 6th grade math this year!

What's Happening in 6th Grade Math During August?

We are excited for another great year in 6th grade math! Students have spent the first few class periods getting to know one another, getting acquainted with another school year, and working on our ALEKS Initial Knowledge Check!

Students will be working on ALEKS tghroughout the school year and itwill be part of their grade. Their girst goal is 159 topics (the first half) by December 18th! Students have access to it at home if they want to continue to work on it after school hours!

ALEKS is a great tool for students that our district has adopted and meets students where they are to develop a math path that is perfect for them to close any learbing gaps that they have! If you want to learn more about ALEKS, check out this video!

We will be starting Module 1- Ratios and Rates as our kickoff to 6th grade math! Check back for daily updates to the agenda and for fun pictures of your students in action during class!
