ALEKS is an adaptive online math program that provides personalized practice based on each student's individual learning needs. Students work at their own pace, mastering one skill at a time while building a strong foundation in mathematics. Regular use of ALEKS supports classroom learning, reinforces key concepts, and helps students gain confidence and independence as math learners.
How the Learning Path Works
Initial Assessment: The system tests your current knowledge to set your baseline.
The ALEKS Pie: Your progress shows up as a colorful circular pie chart. Each slice stands for a different skill area.
Ready to Learn: The program picks topics you are ready to study. It sorts them from easiest to hardest.
Practice and Mastery: You answer practice questions with instant feedback and step-by-step help. Getting enough questions right marks the topic as mastered and grows your pie.
Knowledge Checks: Periodic mini-tests make sure you remember past work. If you forget a topic, it returns to your path for review
The pathway is split between the semesters and is expected to be independently completed by the end of the year. I will provide some time in class to work on this and there is always WIN/study hall time if there is nothing else to work on.
