With macOS, iOS and iPadOS unsupported means that the device that is listed here will no longer update to the latest version of the software. This can be due to age or limited hardware. If a device is unsupported this does not mean it is unusable. Apple provides 2-3 years of security updates on most occasions to ensure that unsupported users will recieve proper security and time to upgrade devices.
