Zoom Pro allows for meetings that last up to 30 hours, both 1:1 and those with up to 100 participants. Pro also comes with up to 10 GB of cloud storage, and several other features. For more information on Zoom Pro, click here.
Faculty/staff who are currently teaching at Naz will receive Zoom Pro account, and those with an existing Zoom account will automatically receive a Pro Upgrade. Faculty should contact ITS at tmsd@naz.edu with questions about verifying their Zoom account status. Any faculty member who has a Zoom Pro Account can request to have Zoom Cloud recording enabled.
For the best performance and access to all of Zoom’s features, such as virtual backgrounds, breakout rooms, and screen sharing, it’s recommended that you use the Zoom Desktop Application. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can download it for free.
To get started, navigate to https://zoom.us/download and download the Zoom Client for Meetings; Alternatively, you can install the Zoom Workplace app directly from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 or 11.
Once the application is installed, open it and log in with your MyNaz credentials, or log in with Google. Once logged in, you can join classes, schedule meetings, and adjust settings directly from the desktop app.
Note: Zoom can also be accessed through your mobile device. The mobile app supports audio/video, screen sharing, chat, and most other core features. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, and log in with your MyNaz credentials.
If you’re using a shared computer or prefer not to install software, you can access Zoom through your browser. This version offers slightly fewer features than the desktop app but is great for quick access or one-time use. From the web portal, you can join meetings, schedule new ones, and review any past meetings or recordings.
Firstly, go to Nazareth's Zoom Site and select Login in the top right corner. Sign in with your MyNaz credentials, or by logging in with Google. From there, you can access your Zoom account directly from the web of any modern browser.
Classrooms can be setup to live-stream classes held on our physical campus to virtual students. Enabled classrooms have Zoom installed on the presenter computer and a connected webcam on a tripod to capture the classroom presentation.
Faculty utilizing classroom livestreaming should review the Live-Stream Startup Procedure prior to class, to better understand the process and settings for hosting meetings. You can follow an instructional video that covers the steps outlined in the procedure guide here.
This Live-Stream Instructional Model offers an example of how to design your class to reach all students while maintaining space requirements.
Faculty should contact the Technology & Media Services Desk at 389-2111 or tmsd@naz.edu with hardware questions about specific classrooms or to request a temporary Zoom kit for a classroom where live-streaming is not currently available.
