Moodle includes an all-or-nothing multiple choice question format in addition to the standard multiple choice format.
Questions built using this format requires students to select the exact number correct choices in order to receive 100% credit. If a student does not select all of the correct choices or selects any incorrect choices, they will receive 0% for the question. The All-or-nothing multiple choice question format does not allow for partial question credit!
Step 1: Click on the Quiz title in the course.
Step 2: Once viewing the Quiz , click the Gear icon and select Edit Quiz.
Step 3: Select the location for the question by clicking the desired Add link and then select + a new question from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: In the pop-up menu, click All-or-Nothing Multiple Choice and click Add.
Step 5: Enter a specific name in the Question name field.
Note: Question names are not seen by students but will help identify questions in your question bank. A clear question name relating to the topic or content will be helpful for reusing questions in the future.
Step 6: Enter the question in the Question Text field.
Step 7: If desired, enter a new number in the Point value field. The default value for a question is one point.
Step 8: In the Choice 1 field, enter the text to be displayed to students.
Step 9: Click the Correct checkbox to designate the choice as correct. Leave the check box blank if it is an incorrect answer.
Repeat steps 8 and 9 to add additional options under the other choice fields (Choice 2, Choice 3, etc.).
Note: For this question type, students must select every correct answer to receive credit for the question.
Step 10: Scroll down and select Save changes when finished.
Step 11: The question will appear on the edit quiz screen, click the magnifying glass to preview the question.
