Moodle offers the option to allow multiple attempts at a quiz. Options range from one to ten and unlimited. This feature is helpful if the goal is for students to learn from the feedback given after their attempts or if the teaching approach is learning to mastery.
Step 1: Click on the Quiz title in the course.
Step 2: Once viewing the Quiz, click the Gear icon in the top right corner and select Edit Settings.
Step 3: Scroll down to Grade and click the attempts allowed drop-down. Select the preferred number of attempts
Step 4: Scroll down to Question Behavior. If multiple attempts are allowed, and this setting is set to Yes, then each new attempt will contain the answer(s) from the previous attempt. If this setting is set to No, then each attempt will be a fresh quiz.
Note: If the setting is set to Yes, the student will receive the questions in the same order as the previous attempt, independent of the randomization settings that are selected.
