Grading Features
Grading Forum Activity Posts
Graded Forum activities can be reviewed and scored using an activity-specific grading feature. In order to access this feature grading must be enabled under the Forum Edit settings screen.
It is important to note that Discussion Forums can only be graded with the grader application if they are worth a grade in your grade book -- point value or scale grade types both work. If you do not see a forum or assignment appearing in the grader window, that means it is not worth a grade value in your course.
Grading a Forum Post
Step 1: Click the forum title on the course page.
Step 2: The Grade users to access the review and scoring feature.
Overview for Grading Discussions
a. Review the student posts on the left-hand panel. This will display will indicate which they responded to and/or started.
b. To view the response in the context of the discussion, click View discussion.
c. Enter a score in the Grade field for their responses.
Note: Feedback for forum posts can be entered in the gradebook.
d. Click Save to add the score to the gradebook.
e. Click the arrow buttons to cycle through the work of every participant in the course.
f. Click Close to return to the forum activity.
