Using the Course Recycle Bin

Moodle courses feature a recycle bin that allows faculty to recover recently deleted activities or resources in the course. These items can be completely restored back into the course for a period of 7 days. Restoring activities from the recycle bin will also include any student data or grades that were associated with an activity.

The recycle bin will only contains course level activities and resources that were recently deleted. Student data or text that was deleted while working within activities will not appear separately in the course recycle bin.

Step 1: Click the Gear icon and select Recycle bin from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: To restore an item back into the course, click the Arrow button under the Restore column.

Note: If the item was just deleted, it may take a few minutes for it to appear in the Recycle bin.

Step 3: A banner notification will appear once the activity or resources has been restored into the course.

Note: Depending on the size of the time, this might take a little time. Do not leave the Recycle bin until this banner appears!
