Grading Features

Downloading and Uploading Assignment Files

Moodle allows users to download student submission files in bulk as a zipped file.  Once downloaded, you can add your edits in Word and then save the files to your computer under the same file name. The saved files can then be uploaded to Moodle in bulk and are automatically linked to the correct enrolled user.

Important: Never change the file name of downloaded assignment files. This custom name is used by Moodle to link the file with the correct user and assignment.

Uploading Feedback Files to Moodle in Bulk

Once you have reviewed and added feedback to the downloaded files, you can then add the entire folder back to Moodle using the bulk upload feature. Moodle will automatically distribute the feedback files to the correct student in your course. These convenient actions translate to faster grading of assignments offline.

Before you can upload the feedback files, you must convert the folder to a zip format. This is required in order to upload the feedback files to Moodle

Step 1: Right-click on the folder containing the feedback files.

Step 2: When the menu appears, click Send to and then select Compressed (zipped) folder from the menu.

A copy of the feedback file folder you "right-clicked" will be created in the zip file format. This will be placed in the same location as the original feedback file. You will use this zipped folder to bulk upload your files to Moodle.
