Embedding a Slides Presentation into a Page

A Google Slides presentation can be published to web allowing for a directly share of the presentation. This provides access to a embed code that allows the presentation to be embedded direction in a Moodle page or other text field. 

Publishing a Slides Presentation

Step 1: While working in a Slides file, click the File link and select Publish to the web from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Click Embed to access the embedding settings.

Step 3: Adjust presentation settings as desired. 

Step 4: Click Publish

Step 5: A field will appear with html code, select and copy the entire code.

Adding the Slides Presentation into a Page Resource

A Slides presentation can be embedded into any text field within Moodle. This example outlines the process for adding this presentation to a Page resource. 

Step 1: Click the Gear icon and select Turn editing on from the drop-down menu.

Step 2: Click +Add an activity or resource under the appropriate topic section.

Step 3: Scroll down to Resources within the pop-up menu and select Page.

Step 4: Click the Add button.

Step 5: On the Adding a new Page screen, enter the file name in the Name field.

Step 6: If desired, enter details in the Description field. It may be a good idea to limit the description to one or two sentences which will be visible on the course homepage. You will need to check the box "Display description on course page" to make the description visible to students.


Step 7: Click into the Content field and click the html icon (</>) to enable the code editor. 

Step 8: Paste the embed code copied from the Slides presentation. 

Step 9: Click the html icon (</>) to switch off the editor and preview the presentation. 

The Slide presentation will appear in the Content field. If desired, enter additional text to the Content field. 

Step 10: Click Save and return to course when finished.
