Echo360

Adding  Echo360 to your Moodle Course

Videos stored in Echo360 can be shared in your Moodle course using a system integration. This will allow anyone enrolled in Moodle to have access to video content that is added to your classroom page in Echo360. To establish this connection, faculty must always setup a link in the course at the start of every semester.

Connecting your course to Echo360 is a two part process (see below) that involves adding the link to your Moodle course and setting up your Echo360 course section.

TIP: Echo360 functionality can be impacted by the use of certain web browsers. Google Chrome is the recommended web browser for accessing Moodle and Echo360!

Part 1: Adding an Echo360 link in Moodle

Step 1: Switch on Edit mode.

Step 2: Locate the topic section (or week) in which the content will be located and click +Add an activity or resource.

Step 3: In the pop-up menu, scroll down through the many activity choices and select External Tool.

Step 4: Enter a name for the external Tool link in the Activity name field.

Step 5: Click the Preconfigured tool field and select Echo360 from the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Click Save and return to course.

Part 2: Adding an Echo360 link in Moodle

Now that the link to Echo360 is established in your Moodle course, you need to create a corresponding section in the Echo360 platform.

Step 7: From your Moodle course homepage, click the Echo360 link you just created.

Step 8: Click on the Term field and select the appropriate term from the drop-down menu.

Step 9: Click on the Course field and select the course from drop-down menu (the correct course should be automatically listed if you set up the Moodle External Tool correctly).

Pro Tip:  If your course is not automatically listed, search for it. If it is still not listed, then you need to review how you set up the External Tool in Moodle. You should not add a new course!

Step 11: Create a section number for your course and then click Connect.

TIP: If you accidently link the wrong course, go into that course in Echo360 and select Unlink LMS Course, then start the process again from step 7.
