Echo360

Adding an Echo360 Video Using the Content Text Editor Button

Moodle now features an easy  Echo360 content button directly in the system text editor. This gives faculty a new option to link or embed Echo360 videos directly into your course. This feature allows you to add video content from Echo360 to any text field in the system, including course headings, labels, page resources, and assignment description fields.

Important note about this functionality: Unlike when using the standard Echo360 course link, videos adding using this feature are not grouped in a unique course section and therefore, student viewing data is not generated in Echo360.  Also, videos adding to your course using this feature will also NOT display the video transcript for students

Step 4: Enter a title in the Name field.

Step 5: If desired, enter text in the Description field.

Step 6: Enter text in the Page content field as desired.

Step 7: To add a video to the text field, click the Echo360 content button.

The Embed Media window will open and allow you to add a video to the text field in Moodle under the Choose from My Home tab.  This allows you add any video already stored in your content home screen in Echo360.

Note: Media can also be added to Echo360 during this step, to review this processes, go to the help guides for Creating new Media using Universal Capture or Uploading Existing Media

Step 8: If needed, locate the video using the search field or Filters options.

Step 9:  Once displaying in the list, click on the video to select it for the page resource.

Step 10: Adjust Size, Start at time or other playback options as desired.

Step 11: If you wish to add the video as a hyperlink rather than a video embed, click the Link switch.

The video content will than display in the text field. Embedded videos will appear as a link rather than a video in the Edit settings screen. The video will appear in the page after saving.
