LCDR Dyer hails from Young Harris, GA, a small town nestled in the Appalachain mountains of North GA. His Naval Career began in June of 1988 and he served until July 2009. He enlisted in the US Navy in June of 1988 as an Aegis Fire Controlman and served in this capacity for 9.5 years. His enlisted tours included afloat, training and instructor tours.
LCDR Dyer returned to college in 1996 using his active duty Tuition Assistance benefits and completed his B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology. After reaching this goal, then FC1 Dyer, applied for the Navy's Officer Candidate School and was selected. He received his commission on January 16, 1998 as a Cryptologic Officer. He attended Naval Postgraduate School and received his M.S. in Information Technology Management. As an Information Warfare Officer, LCDR Dyer served on 6 Pacific Fleet Combatants, Joint Watch Operations Officer, IWO Dept Head Course Manager, Training Branch Officer, Information Warfare and Space and Naval Warfare Program Manager and Deputy Chief of Staff for COMNAVRESFORCOM. Retired to Pensacola, FL with 21 years Naval Service in July 2009.
LCDR Dyer began his SNSI career in December of 2009 at Gautier High School in Gautier, MS. Then he moved to Milton High School when the position opened up in October of 2010. In addition to his primary post as MHS SNSI he also serves as the NJROTC Area 8 Information Technology Committee Representative.
