Use in K-12

Classcraft offers tutorial videos for teachers to start the process of using the program in their classrooms. There are short videos that lay out each step.

Classcraft can be used as a classroom management system, as well as an integration tool with some of the web 2.0 tools that are already being used. Classcraft currently has partnerships with Google Classroom, Microsoft 365, and Clever. Other tools can be set as random events or content challenges for students to complete.

In the classroom:

• Reward academic effort and engagement with active participation
• Allow for some self selection of groups before selected student groups as the teacher.
• Create Random Events: This can be done where the events are related to what the unit of study is currently in the classroom, as well as adjusting random events that are supplied to make them more online friendly.
• Content Challenges: This is where teachers will relate specific assignments from the classroom to Classcraft. This enables some of the crossover between the in-person or traditional learning style to add in the gamification angle to a lesson. Teachers can upload the content challenges that they want to.
• Data Tracking: There is the ability to track data from each week of participation and usage by students. Teachers can view the data to determine where the most points are being awarded, where students are struggling, and areas that need to be strengthened.
• Grade Converter: Test or assignment grades can be entered into the system to reward Health Points (HP) and Experience Points (XP).
