Professional Development Committee
Last year, the International Division's Professional Development (PD) Committee worked to offer PD experiences that promoted dialogue and discussion between any and all members of AECT. The goal was to embody the Division's mission of transcending international boundaries and cultural lines. To this end, the committee hosted two online events, one in June 2022 and one in October 2022. The first event focused on the topic of innovation, whereas the second event explored the topic of open education. Both events encouraged participants to share how these topics are impacting our field and unfolding in different corners of the world. For those interested, the second event was video recorded and can be viewed via AECT's Vimeo account (Or, https://vimeo.com/640127228).
Now in its third year, the PD Committee will be co-coordinated by three committee veterans: Shamila Janakiraman, Mohamad Baba, and Ruchika Arora. The committee co-coordinators are working hard to build on the successes of the previous two years and will be announcing upcoming events soon. The committee invites all members of the International Division to participate in these PD sessions and invite their colleagues and peers. Everyone is welcome at an International Division PD event. If readers of the newsletter have ideas or suggestions for PD events, please feel free to contact members of the committee. In closing, the PD Committee is looking forward to another year of listening and learning together!
