I was born and raised in Modesto, California where I spent many years playing music of all genres. From high school marching bands and jazz ensembles to eventually the Josh Rosenblum Band, music has defined a major part of my life and who I am today. I attended Modesto Junior College where I began my adventures into academia.

After transferring to Northern Arizona University, my life changed in many ways: I earned my first ever 4.0 GPA and was recognized on the Dean's List. I joined the NAU Speech and Debate team where I learned valuable communication and argumentation skills, received scholarships and was afforded the opportunity to travel across the United States and Canada.

Throughout the process of completing my undergraduate degree, I became increasingly interested in the science-policy interface. Although my work at the bench takes place in a lab, it is important to me that my research is accessible to all audiences, regardless of education background. Clear communication of science is the starting point for better and more equitable policy.

Outside of school and research, I enjoy playing music when I get the chance. I've also picked up disc golf as a hobby which has been a lot of fun (and frustating at times). I also love adventuring with my partner, Emily and our goldendoodle, Nana.
