Lamia Hamie, DPT
I graduated from The University of Rhode Island with my Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2022. Since then, I have practiced in outpatient orthopedic and inpatient rehab settings. After my first year I decided to move across the country and practice as a travel PT in California. While in California, a love for the outdoors emerged. I spent my weekends at National Parks and became fascinated with the population of clients I was treating. This newfound passion led me to start Natural State Physio here on the east coast, with a focus on educating and treating the outdoor adventure athlete.
After three years of practice in three different states, I became overburdened by the healthcare system. I began to realize that the physical therapy profession I fell in love with while in graduate school was not what it seemed. The insurance run healthcare system made it difficult to provide quality and patient centered care. I concluded that this system was not for me and Natural State was born. An idea that now exists. Natural State Physio is for the client that would like to play a more significant role in their care, the decision-making process, and are dissatisfied with care they may have received before.
