Zoom Rules & Expectations
** No recording of a Zoom meeting session may be posted, or screen shots taken, for any other purpose other than viewing by the students and teacher in that class. **
Preparing for your Zoom class:
1. Students should be fully dressed in school-appropriate attire
2. Student should be in a comfortable, quiet location, ideally with a wall in the background to avoid other household members entering the frame.
3. Students that wish to use a virtual background must use the provided LGA background.
4. Class will begin with roll call at the scheduled time, so logging in a minute or two early is a good idea
5. Open the activity for the day that is posted in Google Classroom
During your Zoom class:
1. We will begin each Zoom class with a Do Now in the daily activity. The teacher will take roll at this time, during which your cameras must be turned on to verify your identity. After the review of the Do Now, you may turn your camera off if you desire. (If there is a concern you cannot have your camera on during that time, contact me through email ASAP)
2. All classroom norms apply when in a Zoom session. In other words, if you wouldn't do it while in physical class, don't do it while in digital class.
3. Students will remain on mute when in a whole-class call, unless they have volunteered or been called on to make a verbal response.
4. All verbal and group chat responses should be linked to a course reading or concept covered in class specifically. This helps students to cite specific evidence and not provide their own editorial comments on the course content. Inappropriate or excessive use of chat may result in student conference, parent contact, or removal from the Zoom call.
5. Students who would like to contribute to the class should use the Response icons, particularly the "Raise Hand" feature.
6. Break Out Session Room Discussion must be structured and on topic. Participants must take turns sharing their ideas with consideration given to other group discussion participants.Teachers will be dropping in on all break out session rooms at random times to ask questions of participants conducting discussions.
7. All meetings and breakout sessions are recorded and will be made available to students following the meeting in a designated area provided by the teacher.
