I believe that children should be spending their outside of school time doing fun things with friends and family, so homework will be very minimal. I ask that your student reads every night before bed for 10-15 minutes and practice their sight words 2 or 3 times a night.
Reading activities include:
"Read" the pictures in a picture books
Reading by themselves
Reading with you or another adult
Reading or listening to books online using Epic!
Reading our decodable readers or sight word books
Students will have received sight word flash cards at the beginning of the school year. I ask that you take the time to go over sight words with your student every night. Students will start with red and go all the way down to purple. They will be tested weekly on their sight words using the sheet below, so any work you can do with them at home will help your student progress through their sight words quickly.
