I grew up in San Luis Obispo, CA. I attended UC Davis, graduating with honors with a B.S. in Psychology and minors in Math and Education, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a Single Subject Authorization in Math, and an M.A. in Education. My M.A. research focused on using journaling in math and science instruction to increase students' abilities to explain their thinking and ask questions.
I love to spend my free time building Legos with my husband (yep, he's that Mr. Strazzo from the Star Academy library!), visiting my family and the beach back home in SLO, crafting, and watching shows about cooking and food. Although I have dietary restrictions, I love cooking too! Some of my favorites are the color purple, sunflowers, unsweetened green iced tea, anything with peanut butter and chocolate, and shopping at Target.
This is my eleventh year teaching at Star Academy, my twelfth year teaching overall, and my sixteenth year working in kindergarten. Kindergarten is my jam and I love being a part of the Star Academy family!

I was born and raised in Yuba City. Before joining Star Academy, I spent 10 years coaching gymnastics, which sparked my passion for working with young children and inspired me to pursue a career in education.
This will be my third year at Star Academy and my first year student teaching in Mrs. Strazzo’s class! I’ve spent the past two years as a Paraprofessional and recently graduated from Sacramento State with my Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development. I’m currently working toward becoming an elementary school teacher and am so excited to continue learning and growing with our students.
