I believe that classroom volunteering is a pillar of Natomas Charter School and a great way to strengthen our community of supportive parents. We are partners in your child's education and your presence has an impact! This will also be covered at Back to School Night on August 21st.
If you are interested in Classroom Volunteering, please fill out this Volunteer Interest Survey.
Classroom volunteers must be fingerprinted through Natomas Charter School. Pick up a volunteer fingerprinting packet from the front office to get started.
Volunteers are expected to be reliable and on time. Please let me know if you cannot make your volunteer time.
Volunteers are expected to maintain confidentiality about student behavior in the classroom.
Volunteers should strive to support the teacher and all students in the classroom - not just your own child! Please talk to your child about how they will feel when they see you helping in the classroom and what to expect when you are supporting all students.
Volunteers should have fun and enjoy getting a sneak peek into your child's classroom world!
Chaperones will be randomly selected for each field trip. You MUST be fingerprinted through Natomas Charter School in order to attend a field trip (stop by the front office for more information on fingerprinting). Fingerprinting can take over a week to complete so please do not leave it to the last second and expect to make it to the field trip. I will discuss this in more detail at Back to School Night on August 21st.
Please note that field trip chaperones are expected to participate and avoid distractions during field trips (e.g., follow teacher instructions, actively watch students, avoid cell phone use, etc.).
