Parents are encouraged to call the parish office well in advance to begin the preparation for Baptism. You must be registered for at least 3 months before any Sacraments are conferred. Baptismal classes are offered only by appointment.
Adults who have not been Confirmed should call the parish office to arrange being part of the next Adult Confirmation celebration. Student Confirmation is a two year process that starts in 8th Grade and concludes in 9th Grade. Contact the Faith Formation office for more information.
Anyone entering the hospital should inform the office, and arrange to receive the sacrament before being admitted. Most hospitals no longer have resident priest-chaplains, and we cannot guarantee a priest will be available at the hospital before your surgery. Any surgery, large or small is worthy of receiving the Sacrament. Please do not wait until your loved one is dying. Sacraments are for the living!
At least one party must be registered, with at least one year residence in the parish. Couples should begin the extensive preparation program as soon as they decide to marry, preferably 12-18 months before the proposed date. Please make no other plans (i.e. hall rental) until this date is confirmed with a priest. The process begins with an appointment with Father Kevin McCarthy.
This sacrament is celebrated on Saturday afternoons from 3:30-4:15 p.m. Please arrive beforehand to allow appropriate time for an Examination of Conscience. The Sacrament is not time for Spiritual Direction or Therapy; it is for the confession of sins, the dispensing of absolution and for the grace of the Sacrament. Please be aware you can always call the office to make an appointment to celebrate the sacrament if Saturday afternoon does not work for you.
