SENIOR REQUIREMENTS
DEADLINE - All Senior Portraits + Blurbs for 2024 Yearbook are Due Friday, December 1st, 2023.
Seniors can schedule an appointment with the school photographer, Paradise Photo and Video, 203 Union Street, Natick, 508-655-9288, our official photographer for 2023-2024. Packages are available here. (Info on using an outside photographer can be found further down this page)
Deadline for submitting a senior portrait and blurb to the yearbook is December 1st. Photographs and blurbs submitted after this date are not guaranteed to be in the yearbook. If we do not receive your senior portrait, there will be a placeholder photo instead (In years past, we have used Rudy the Redhawk). You may reach out to us via email to give us permission to use your School ID photo, but you must let us know to do this. Some people choose not to have a photo included in the yearbook, so we do not assume you want your ID used if you don't send us another photo first.
Submitting your photo: Paradise Photo and Video in Natick will submit your photos to the yearbook staff for you. If you use another company or take your own photo – you are responsible for submitting your photo via email. To submit your photo by email, please send it to NHSyearbook@natickps.org with the subject line of the email as "Student's Last Name, First Name - Senior Photo."
Please also make sure the PICTURE FILE is named "Student's Last Name, First Name."
If you DO NOT send us a Senior Photo by the time the yearbook pages are due, a picture of Rudy the Redhawk will be used in place of a Senior Photo.
If you choose to not be included in the yearbook in ANY capacity, please email the Yearbook Advisor - Mr. Fleming (jfleming@natickps.org) before the photo deadline posted above!
Note: It is EXTREMELY important that these guidelines below are followed to ensure your photo is in the yearbook.
The senior section is a semi-formal section of the yearbook and has restrictions so that it is consistent. When you find yourself asking "Is this picture OK for the yearbook?" ask if it is something you would include with a college or job resume.
Poses must be a traditional head & shoulder, moderate close-up with or without hands or arms. Please no Full Length Shots!
All portraits placed in the senior section of the yearbook must have a solid/non-distracting backdrop. This includes any single color photo studio backdrop, brick and stone walls, etc. Outdoor (tree, lake, forest, fence, etc) shots will NOT be accepted. We reserve the right to ask for an alternate photo if we find the background of a photo is too distracting. See sample photos below!
All students should dress business casual or semi-formal. Examples of this include:
Suit coat/jacket and tie (optional)
Collared shirts, blouse, sweater
The following do not meet the business casual guidelines and are not allowed:
No exposed shoulders
No props or other enhancements in your portrait
No sunglasses, hats, t-shirts, tank tops, dew rags, or bandanas
No shirts with text or print on them
If you choose to go with a photographer other than Paradise Photo and video make sure you follow the following formatting guidelines for your senior portrait: print these requirements out and bring them to the photographer. Please ensure that your photographer has submitted your photo to NHSyearbook@natickps.org with the subject line of the email as "the student's Last Name, First Name - Senior Photo." Please also make sure the PICTURE FILE is named "Student's Last Name, First Name." The yearbook office is not responsible for editing your photographs or communicating with your photographer.
Color pictures only
Traditional solid background – no outside shots (see detailed bulletpoint above)
Pictures should be 2:3 ratio, 400 dpi or better. The MINIMUM pixel width of the photo should be 800 X 1200, but the larger the photo, the clearer it will print in the yearbook.
Seniors may also choose to use their current School ID photo as their Senior Photo, but please plan to dress appropriately for school picture day
Please email the Yearbook Advisor - Mr. Fleming (jfleming@natickps.org) ASAP if this is what you would like to do!

Senior Group Photos:
Group photos are taken for the end pages in the yearbook. Traditionally, the first photo is taken early in the year and the second is taken on Halloween when all the seniors are wearing their costumes. We assemble in the gym, with the photographer arranging everyone around the Redhawk logo on the gym floor. We ask that everyone be on time, ready to organize themselves and get the photo taken so that the process can be efficient.
First Photo: FRIDAY of Senior Spirit Week @7:30am. Remember to wear your RED! Please be prompt so this can be a quick process!!
Second Photo: Day of Halloween Celebration (this is the Halloween Costume group photo), 1 pm
