Document Format

Naming your Google Document

Student submissions to Google Docs MUST be uniform. Before sharing your document with your teacher, rename the Google Document Title using the following format:

Lastname Class Assignment Name

Un-Check the box for “Notify people via email” unless teacher requests otherwise.

Heading Format:

double-spaced, left justified

Your Name

Mr./Ms./Mrs. Teacher's Last name

Class Period and Level

Date Due: # Month Year

Creative, Unique, CENTERED Title (no font/type change)

Essay Body Format:

Double-spaced, size 11 or 12 standard font (times/arial/calibri/cambria).
Documents longer than one page must also have a header (right justified) with last name and page number starting on the second page.

HOW TO Add a page number on a Google Doc

Insert --> Page Number --> # at top right
WITHOUT disturbing the grey highlight, add your last name and a space before the 1
Change font type and size to be consistent with the rest of your essay
Click the box below the page header to so the page numbers begin on page 2

Special Format

Block quotes are required when a direct quote exceeds four lines—indented one inch from the left margin. With a block quote, do not use quotation marks and the citation follows the punctuation in the final sentence.
