At the beginning of the year, your students collaborated together and came up with the classroom rules. These rules were created to ensure a safe and friendly learning environment for all students. After voting, we discussed what these rules "look like" and "sound like." This helps to set clear expectations and guidelines for the classroom throughout the year.
In our class we will: Have fun, take risks, be safe, be responsible, and be respectful
Having Fun:
Looks like - smiling,
Sounds like - laughing, and talking to each other
Take Risks:
Looks like - trying new things, and challenging yourself
Sounds like- "I'll give it a shot" , "I'll try it" ,"It's ok to make mistakes, mistakes are a part of learning"
Be Safe:
Looks like - calm body, keeping hands to yourself, and walking
Sounds like - quiet, and talking voices
Be Responsible:
Looks like - asking for help, staying organized, trying your best, and keeping the classroom clean.
Sounds like - "I'm stuck, can you help me?", "Can, I have another minute?" ,"I'm getting frustrated, can I have a break?"
Be Respectful:
Looks like - listening to each other, raising your hand, one speaker, being kind, and taking care of materials
Sounds like - "hello", "Excuse me?", "thank you", "can you pass, the ______ please?"
