Students in Mrs. Spenner's English II recently completed a tableaux activity to help visualize the opening scene of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Actors played different parts and stayed in frozen motion to portray the action.
Let's set the scene. In Rome the people are taking a holiday to celebrate the triumphant return of Julius Caesar. The tribunes Marullus and Flavius try to shame the people into returning to their places of work by reminding them how much they loved Caesar’s rival Pompey, whom Caesar has destroyed and whose sons he has just defeated...A soothsayer advises Caesar that the fifteenth of March will be a dangerous day for him.

English III Honors scholars had just ten minutes to construct their versions of Ray Bradbury's mechanical hound as described in his science fiction text Fahrenheit 451. The catch: not only did they have just ten minutes, but they also had limited specific supplies. What's necessary to be successful: teamwork, creativity, and attention to textual evidence.
Raelyn, Reiese, Lexy, and Marley's creative masterpiece really brought the eight legs to the forefront.
Jenna, Peyton, and Makayla's "hound" was large and in charge.
Jacob, Sydney, Gannon, and Ava's creation was a bit smaller than the other two creations but no less accurate.

Mrs. O'Rear reported that her World Cultures classes were back in the kitchen "whipping up some Indian and South Asian cuisine" on Wednesday, 2/4/26.
Briley, Raegan, Meadow, Joey, and Silas shared a workspace to create Chocolate Ladoo and Indian Chicken Curry.
We're assuming that Witten, Tison, Brewer, Owen, and Jorie are giving a thumbs up for their Butter Chicken after tasting it.
Lillian and Anna tried their hand at a traditional Indian yogurt-based drink called a Masala Lassi.
Violet and Zoey don't look too sure about their Chitrannam they are preparing.
Grady and Aaron seem pretty confident about their Turmeric Basmati Rice.
Mabry and Leighton tried their hand at Indian Butter Chicken as well.
Madison, Tori, Tyler, and Kailee worked together to create Coconut Cardamom Pecan Baked Doughnuts.

Mrs. Goostree's students have been learning about America's entrance into the "Age of Imperialism" in U.S. History and Honors History. On January 15, students were given step-by-step instructions that led them to conquering as much of the classroom as possible before other "teams" could do so. In the end, students could make connections to why imperialism is a challenge until you have the advantage of power.
Ava, Reagan, and Summer work on their flag production.
Evie initiated the "dibs" protocol of the Mrs. Goostree's board for her country.
Team C didn't win, but Cade, Camdyn, Jess, and Brock made it clear their country meant business.
Reise, Raelyn, and Jake create a national anthem for their country.
Carter, Hayden, and Will are in the flag making zone.
How it started: the organized chaos of claiming territory.
How it ended: a cuthroat battle for control of the classroom projector.
