Teacher Leaders Present: A Year of Research and Work
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2019-2020 Teacher Leaders were not able to meet in person to present their research like they normally do. Instead they met virtually to share what they had learned. This year members worked on the following topics:
- The Modern Classroom: How Can the Circle Practice Enhance Social-Emotional Learning? by Corrine Krycki
- Music in the Middle: The Benefits and Effects of Music on Middle School Students Today by Emma Bourgoin and Maria Dominguez-Diaz
- SEL Leadership Teams by Gary Stoncius
- Traveling Specialists and Elementary Communities by Michele Nunnelley
- Middle School Leveling Practices by Michael Allen and Tara Osinski
- Modified Schedules at the High Schools by Maureen Curran
- Service-Based Learning by Jocelyn Merrill
- Student Level and Performance by Sean Malone
- Personal Finance as a High School Requirement by Angela Bartlett and Michele Boris
The goal of the research projects is to implement them into the district and/or schools to improve the district/school. Since the beginning of this program, several research projects have been adopted in the district including the rotating/water fall schedules used at Fairgrounds and Elm Street Middle Schools.
