Mrs. Deana Ferry has been employed by the Northampton Area School District since 2001. She started in the district as the At-Risk Coordinator at the high school for 7 years before coming to the middle school in 2008. Before Mrs. Ferry was a school counselor, she worked at Valley Youth House for 10 years as both a therapist and supervisor for several mental health programs.
After attending Central Catholic High School, she attended Penn State University and received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology. She then attended Kutztown University and received her Master of Art degree in Counseling Psychology in 1991. In 2000, Mrs. Ferry received her guidance certificate and currently holds a Level 2 Educational Specialist certificate. Mrs. Ferry is a member of the Pennsylvania's School Counselor Association (PSCA), National Education Association (NEA), and the Northampton Area Education Association (NAEA).
On a personal note, Mrs. Ferry is married and has 2 children. Her son lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and son. Her daughter lives in Boston. Her children attended University of Pittsburgh and Northeastern University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exercising, spending time with family, and long walks with her husband and doggie named Nemo.
