Every year I look forward to presenting classroom guidance lessons to the Moore Elementary students. I believe that my time in the kindergarten classroom is very important in allowing me to meet the students and for the students to get to know me. This relationship allows students to become familiar with me. In the even that they need my services, I am not a stranger to them and they feel comfortable allowing me to help them.

We continue learning about feelings, friends, getting along, empathy, problem solving, bullying and anger management in first and second grade, reinforcing the skills learned in Kindergarten.

The Second Step program is used within the Kindergarten, First and Second grade classrooms, discussing the concepts of:

• Being a good learner

• Feelings and Empathy

• Anger Management

• Problem Solving

• Bullying prevention
