The Importance of Family Dinners

Family meals are important for a variety of reasons. Studies show that children who participate in family meals 3-4 times per week are more likely to be in the normal weight range, have healthier dietary and eating patterns. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/)

When a family sits down together it helps them handle the stressors of daily life.

It is a way to connect with each other and strengthen the family bond.

Family dinner is also a way to boost young children’s vocabulary and story telling skills. A larger vocabulary can lead to stronger reading skills because children will be able to recognize and understand challenging words.
