Q. Can anyone tryout?
A. Participants must be registered for tryouts, completed a waiver and students in the New Albany Plain Local School District.
Q. Can my daughter tryout for an older grade?
A. Participants may only tryout for their current grade - 2nd graders are only permitted to tryout for the 3rd grade team if there are a lack of players to fill the squad.
Q. Does my daughter need to attend both tryouts?
A. It is not required, but it is recommended. Having a second day provides kids the opportunity to have a good day and a bad day and provides the coaches a better chance to properly evaluate them.
Q: For tryouts, what if my daughter has a timing conflict with her age group?
A: Email natravelgirlsbasketball@gmail.com with a request to attend a session that is not your daughter's assigned age group.
Q. What does "travel" mean? How far is the travel?
A. Our teams will be registered in COBA (Central Ohio Basketball Association). Teams from COBA are from all over I-270. Some of the further teams are Delaware, Marysville, Newark, Granville.
Q. What ages are the pre-season open gyms for?
A. Girls in grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. Please see the Key Dates page for times and locations.
Q. When and where are tryouts?
A. See Key dates for details. Check the site close to tryout dates to make sure nothing has changed!
Q. How much will the fees be?
A. We anticipate the player fees to be 350.00-400.00 this year. However, if we need to change the amount of practice time a particular team has due to the number of players and number of teams, we would lower the fees accordingly for the appropriate team(s). Uniform fees are separate and are estimated to be about $100.00 per player for required uniforms, unless players have uniforms from the previous season.
Q. Are there going to be open gyms?
A. Yes. Please check the Key Dates page for dates and locations. First one begins on Sept. 20, at ELC 6-7:30pm
Q. Can parents stay at these open gyms?
A. No, parents may not attend open gyms this season due to safety concerns. Please drop your child off at the gymnasium entrance and come back to get them when our open gyms are complete.
Q. Can parents attend the tryouts?
A. No, parents will not be permitted to be in the gym during the tryouts. All kids will be released together at the conclusion of the tryouts.
Q. If my daughter isn't sure if he wants to try out, can she still attend the Open Gyms?
A. Yes, all kids are welcome to attend these sessions.
Q. How will you notify us of team selections?
A. We will send an email to all registered emails announcing the teams. Whether your daughter was selected or not, you will receive an email. For privacy reasons, we will not place the names of children on our web pages.
Q. Does my daughter need any equipment for the tryouts?
A. Please make sure they bring a ball (size 28.5 - women's ball), water and come ready to play!
Q. Should my daughter bring a ball to the Open Gyms?
A. Yes, this would be helpful. Make sure they have their name on it in big letters. size 28.5

Q. When and where will the practices be held?
A. There is not a consistent day or time for practices due to facility availability, but we will try to make it as consistent as possible.
