After Hurricane Helene made landfall on September 26, the states of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee had billions of dollars of damage. Houses, buildings, cars, and trees were permanently damaged and destroyed.
Helene caused 10 - 15 feet of flooding mostly in Florida. Places like Cedar Key, Florida got 10 feet of flooding and Tampa got over 7 feet. The storm reached 140 mph winds and was over 350 miles long. Wind knocked over houses and cars into rivers of water. North Carolina had the most damage of all. Entire communities were destroyed due to the flooding and landslides from Helene. In all, over 215 people were killed due to the Hurricane.
Right now, people from the North Carolina Coast Guard are flying drones to bring supplies to different communities in hope to rescue people from the dreadful storm.
